After a wonderful three years as vice president of Marketing and Events for Watermark, I’m back on my own, dividing my time between San Francisco and San Antonio.

Along with offering my longtime writing and project management services, my new focus embraces the wonderful skills and experiences I gained at Watermark, which works to increase the number of women in leadership positions. While there, I designed, marketed and delivered more than 60 events a year, ranging from networking receptions to a world-class speaker series to sold-out innovation, leadership and entrepreneurial conferences. These events involved everything from vetting and securing outstanding presenters and panels, handling all of the logistical details, attracting enthusiastic audiences and finding ways to make our sponsors, members and volunteers shine.

While our programs gave professionals the skills and introductions they needed to move up the career ladder, I’m most proud that we made folks feel welcomed, valued and celebrated – that they were truly part of a connected community – and that their time was well spent.

My passion for building communities and making connections actually goes back further than Watermark – and I hope you can see that reflected here on my new website. The refreshed look and feel is the gorgeous work of Nikki May who, when she’s not saving the world from bad design, is a fine artist specializing in drawings, fabric designs, jewelry and more.

Nikki designed my old website (left), too, which was lovely back then but in definite need of a Mary/Nikki redo – which you see on the right.

Does your company or organization need a brand refresh – or a complete makeover? Can you use some increased awareness for your products or services? A more engaged – and expanded – audience? New ways to make your followers feel welcomed, valued and celebrated?

I’m here to help and to support your success.
